Chapter 9- A View to a Death
" Kill the pig, Spill her blood, Bash Her"

1. There are three food choices for the flies in Simon's garden. There is the pig's head, the pig's gut, and Simon's blood coming from a nose bleed. The flies prefer the the pig head and guts. They like it so much that they form a black cloud around the guts.
2. Simon decides to walk around and see if there really is a is a beast on the island. He walks up the mountain towards a figure with a parachute.
3. When Simon sees this figure on te mountaintop. He observes it without fear. Since it is the day time he can see what it really is. He climbs toward the man and untangles the strings attached to the body so that he won't keep rising and bowing in the wind.
4. Piggy suggest that him and Ralph should to go to the party thrown by Jack. Since most of the boys are with Jack and they have meat. I also think that maybe he knew if they joined Jack's group they could convince the boys to keep the fire going and Ralph will be happy and they will be saved.
5. When Ralph and Piggy arive at the party everyone goes silent. Nobody knows what to say until Piggy gets burned and everyone begins to laugh. When everyone is laughing together the tension dies down and jack orders that they bring meat for them.
6. Jack is acting like a king in his little tribe of 12 year olds. He is demanding that everyone do everything for him as if he can't do it himself. Since he is giving commands and being leader he want Ralph to take that from him. He tells him that the conch doesn't work in his area and that if he blows it they won't come.
7. During Jack's party the sky darkens and clouds begin to form. Thunder begins to sound and lightning begins to strike. Later on it begins to rain.
8. As they boys act like savages and dance in circles they sing. "Kill the pig, Spill her blood, Bash her in."
9. When the boys are dancing and chatting Simon crawls out of the jungle on all fours. He crawls into the circle and tries to tell them that the beast was just an aviator.
10. I think that the blame for Simon's death should be put on Jack. I think that because he is the person who suggested that they do the chant and dance. When they did this chant everyone became scared and savage. There is proof that they became scared and savage because Piggy and Ralph see them dancing and want to join becasue they think it looks secure. I think that Piggy and Ralph didn't want to get left out and so when they joined their attitude was changed to be dark and savage. This is why i think Jack is to blame since he is the one that suggested that they do the dance instead of running to shelters.
