Lord of the Flies
Chapter 10- The Shell and The Glasses
"The Beast was in Disguise"
Perspective: Simon's Ghost
Dear Diary,
Everyone wants to make up excuses for killing me but it's just as the Lord of the Flies said. They killed me when I tried to tell them the truth. Ralph and Piggy tried to deny that they killed me. I saw them in the group though. Everyone the pig head said. They were wild and had the look of savages in their eyes. They looked so evil it was exactly as i had feared.
The most evil of all is Jack. He is ruling over the boys as if he was some sort of king. He is abusing his power and forcing them to do things for him that he can do himself. He also beat up a boy for no aparent reason. His evil influence alowed the other boys to go along with it as if it were ok. He also tried to cover up his murder with lying one sin after another. He said that the beast disguised itself as me.
Then Jack moves onn to stealing. Instead of asking for fire from Ralph and Piggy he plans to steal it from them. He plans to take Piggy's glasses stealing not only their fire but also their sight. He sneaks into their camp and causes a rucus. I was disappointed by Ralph and Sam and Eric's reaction as well since they resorted to violence. Even though they didn't hurt Jack and his group they hurt each other. The whole island seems to be full of evil and savageness. I hope a boat comes soon to rescue them and return them to civilization.
Simon
