Chapter 2- Fire on the Mountain
" Shut up Fatty"
Perspective: Ralph

Dear Dairy,

        I have been enjoying this island so much. It's so nice at this island and I admire the ebullience of it.It's full of amazing things it makes me so excited. We have so much to do here on this island like going exploring. There are no adults to tell us what to do. Ralph is a good leader and he lets us have so much fun. Since we're friends he lets me come up with ideas of what we should do and I can the order the choir and little kids around. I already know so much about this island since I went exploring with Ralph and Simon. There is food shade a forest for making fire and a pool for cooling off. I really like it here and even though I want to get rescued I would also like to stay and have fun on this island. There is so much freedom and so much to see. I can't wait to start hunting with the choir. All the little kids look up to me and it makes me feel good.
        Speaking of little kids they have started a rumor about something called a beastie.I think it's probably there imagination. They were probably so scared that they started imagining things. I think maybe the wind was blowing and it moved the creepers and since it was dark they thought it was a monster. It also could have possibly been a snake slithering along in the trees and in the dark they thought it was a beast. whatever it is if it's really there than me and my choir will find it. I'm only worried because the child induced all the little children to believe this. The child had a mulberry  birthmark on him and now we have no idea where he is. The fatty named Piggy didn't count all the kids and now we don't know if all of them are with us. I think the kid with the mulberry birthmark died in the fire but I hope he didn't that's the only thing I could think though. i think he might have slipped away with other capering boys. That means that there could be more kids that have disappeared in the fire.
       I didn't know when we made the fire that it would result so badly. We we're all together collecting dried out firewood. We got them into a nice big pile but at first we were worried because we didn't have anything to start the fire with. Then Piggy walked by and we pinched his glasses to start the fire with. Ralph started some smoke and I blew on it to get the flame going. I thought we were sucessful and we were all happy and shouting but the fire made no smoke. It also died out real quickly. Piggy had alot to say and we weren't to officious at first but he made a point. From the little fire we made came a wild fire and it might burn up the whole island. But i'm not errant like some of the boys. I'm different because I am friends with Ralph and leader of the hunter team. We will also be in charge of helping feed the fire so that we can be rescued. But now it's time to go to bed and i'm excited about tommorow. I think everything will be fine and we can learn from our mistakes today.
