Chapter 1 - Sound of the Shell
"I Think it's an Island"
Perspective: Ralph

Dear Diary,
We just landed on this amazing island and I already know so much about it since I went exploring. First we landed in the forest which was dark and full of creepers but we were able to find our way out onto the beach. It was amazing, it had a specious appearance of being endless. There were palm trees and some of them had decayed so that they made a nice seat. The palm fronds on the standing trees made nice shade. There was a pool made with pink granite and wonderful for swimming in. The was this big scar too, that was in the forest from where the plane landed and a lot of heat was coming from it which added to the overall heat of the island. That's why it was so nice to go swimming.
I like it here on this island. According to my new friend Piggy we landed here because someone shot down our plane. Piggy is my new friend he is fat and has Ass-mar and specks. He is smart but he can get annoying sometimes since he's always talking about his auntie and his Ass-mar. I also made friends with a kid named Jack and Simon. Jack seemed strange at first with his black cloak and hambone frill but I started to like him as we went exploring. Simon was very skinny with a pallor to his face. He faints as well and they say he fainted over the precentor. But we all get along fine.
It's kinda cool that there are no parents on this island. Piggy says that the pilots part of the plane was in flames. When I climbed to the top of the mountain I didn't see any houses either so we can do any thing we want.
When me and Piggy were alone on the beach we found a shell that Piggy says is called a conch. It was big about 18 inches long and when learned how to blow it right it was so loud that every one on the island came to us. It was fun blowing it and because of that people thought i would be a good leader.
I assigned Jack's group to hunting so that he wouldn't feel left out. I really want to know more about the choir though they seem strange. It would be nice to hear them sing for some entertainment. They were wearing their long black cloaks in the heat it was strange.
I'm glad i got elected chief. i think i could be pretty good at it since i have piggy at my side to make ideas with. I am good at blowing the conch. Since i am young like everyone else i can connect with them and give them what they want.
